• I’m using the latest version of s2Member and WordPress–I try to keep those up to date at all time.

Recently (last several months), I’ve noticed that if I close my page (while logged into s2Member), I seem to lose my login every time I open it again–and this happens even if all I do is close the tab my page is in. I don’t need to close the browser for this to happen.

Members of my website have complained about this and asked me to look into it. I’ve tinked with all the settings I could tinker, with no success.

    Anyone familiar with this issue?

    Thanks,

    JC

  • I have never heard of this before, which makes me think it’s probably a plugin conflict.

    My plugins are:

    – Akismet
    – Comic Easel
    – Custom Post Type Permalinks
    – Easy Digital Downloads
    – Exec-PHP
    – Menubar
    – NextGEN Gallery by Photocrati
    – PHP Code Widget
    – Post Type Converter
    – s2Member Framework
    – Traffic Manager

None of them are recent (they pre-date the issue by several months or even years). Any thoughts on which one might be the problem?

    Thanks,

    JC

I don’t use any of them, apart from s2Member, so have no idea.

I know NextGEN has had major problems, and a reputable organization has it on a banned list, but I can’t say whether it’s causing this.

You need to test by deactivating them all, apart from s2Member, and then seeing if the problem goes away. If it does, reactivate them one by one, and test each time. When the problem recurs, there’s your culprit.

Plugin updates can sometimes have undesirable consequences, so the length of time you’ve been using a plugin isn’t really a guide for this sort of thing.
