Try re-saving your permalink structure at Settings/Permalinks in your admin panel. If WordPress cannot automatically edit the .htaccess file, it will provide manual instructions after saving.

What does it mean?

Two last questions (I am sorry to bother you this way)!
1) I am using the plugin wordpress seo by yoast. My website is in Italian and in English (I’m using the q Translate plug-in). Do you know wether there is any chance to optimise it in both languages?
2) All the menu voices are pages except a the blog page (which is a category). Is there any chance to get them to work all the same?

It appears at the beginning of the page for the “blog page”(whic is a category), while for all the other pages it appear above the menu bar.

What is the URL of your site?

The URL is https://www.risotesta.it/, but unfortunately you can only see the old version of the website (which I did using dreamweaver), while the new one in not on-line yet. If you want I can send you a screenshot.

Anyway, I tried to change the permalink settings using the “default” option, and in that case it works (but of course I would like the permaling to have the same name of the page) what should i do?

Yes I build my own menu, but the thing is that, The Category of the menu doesn’t work like the others voices of the menu (which are pages). I mean the navigation link color and the navigation hover color are the same but when you click on it the color is different. I have to say that I modified the css of the menu using firebug, and it worked for the pages but not for the category (I cannot modify the color of the voice of the menu when you click on it).

For the permalinks, ask your hosting provider if mod_rewrite is installed and active on your server.

As for the CSS, I’ll definitely need to actually see the site to be of any help there.

One last thing: I have tried several of the gallery options and can’t get the images to appear as thumbnails where the width and length are the same size in each image for a uniform look.
Do you know what should I do? I don’t know why but some of the thumbnails are the same size (even though the original pictures don’t are the same size), and some others are not!

Are you using Jetpack? If so, make sure the mosaic option isn’t checked at Settings -> Media.
