Hey everyone. I’ve got some questions concerning the template hierarchy and a new breadcrumb plugin I’ve installed (Breadcrumb Navigation XT). I want to be able to better organize my site and I’d like to make a Page with all my categories listed as a parent to the category.php archive page. That way my breadcrumb would look like this:

    Home > Categories > Cat-1

    OR

    Home > Categories > Cat-1 > Subcat-1

This way it would be easy for users to get to a list of all the categories. I could go ahead and create Pages for everything, including the specific categories, but then the links in the breadcrumb plugin wouldn’t work. Not to mention I’d have to manually put in my category lists on my sidebar (which I’ve made into CSS drop down menus).

If there’s a plugin I couldn’t find when searching or a tag I could put in to make a parent, that would be great. Thanks!

    I’m an idiot.. ??

I just modified the breadcrumb’s options for prefix for the categories to include a link to my ‘all categories’ Page and it looks like it’s part of the hierarchy. I’m trying to think back to a time I posted on a forum and didn’t find an answer pretty soon after. Oh well, thanks anyways, this is a great community!
