• Hi,

I hope somebody can help me with the problem i am facing.

I recently updated my woocommerce to the latest version. However it went wrong and I have downgraded it again. After doing this I get this error: Couldn’t compile woocommerce.less: parse error: failed at /home/leondcy13/domains/backpackdeal.nl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/assets/css/woocommerce.less on line 1

My website is working fine again, but I can’t login in my backend.

Can somebody help me with this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Use FTP to rename the directory:
    wp-content/plugins/woocommerce
    to say
    wp-content/plugins/old-woocommerce
This will deactivate WooCommerce. Your data is in the database and should not be affected. Hopefully this should now get you back into the Dashboard.

Your theme appears to be Maya Shop version 1.9.1 but the current version is 2.7, that’s a lot of fixes so consider updating. Take a back up first. Then try again with installing the latest version of WooCommerce. Check all your WooCommerce settings are in place.

    Thanks Lorro for your reply.

I updated the Mayashop to the latest version. I didn’t do this in the past because it wasn’t compatible with the latest version of woocommerce.

After I updated Mayatheme I tried to update Woocommerce again. This still doesn’t work and I still can’t login my dashboard. Same error as before.

The website does work now however when I place an order and go to the checkout my options for paying do not load.

Do you have another idea that might work?

    Kind regards

backpackdeal.nl is still showing Maya Shop v 1.9.1, so it looks like the update to 2.7 was not successful. The version number is in style.css. If you can’t get to the Dashboard, it is possible to carryout a manual update using FTP. Be careful not to delete or overwrite wp-config.wp.

Is it possible that it is due to cache? Because I am able to enter my backend now and it doesn’t say that I need to do an update anymore.

Yes could be cache, your site is now showing the latest version of your theme. If you are running a cache plugin, turn it off and delete all cached pages until you have finished making modifications.

It looks like you are using version 3.8.1 of WordPress. Consider updating to the latest, 3.9.2.

So, back to the original question, do you still get the same error when updating WooCommerce?

I want to update to the latest version of WordPress however last time I tried this I got some problems with Woocommerce as well.

Yes I still get an error when updating Woocommerce. It finally worked to get my Woocommerce back to my old version and I can still login my dashboard.
