Using Gmail SMTP to Send Violates Google TOS

I have been using Mailchimp’s free Mandrill transactional email API instead of a Gmail account since this issue arose. It works brilliantly. Mandrill will give you SMTP info you can add into the Cimy Swift SMTP plugin.

I’m still using this plugin on multiple sites with no issues at all.

Sounds like the OP broke some other rule…sending spam, too much mail, etc. It is not a violation of the TOS to use GMails SMTP server for outgoing mail, in fact, it’s encouraged.
