After an upgrade to 2.1 my pages no longer display. They have disappeared and I have tried to Update Permalinks without any success. I do not want to backtrack to 2.07 if I can find a solution. Any suggestions

What theme are you using? If you use the Default theme do your pages show up?

I have the same problem. Upgraded and now my blog is just blank: https://www.stevendenboer.nl/weblog/

I’m using Green Marinee theme, just like I did with 2.07. Also, I’m using the ViewLevel2 plugin, but either on or off, my blog stays blank.

I can login and manage my whole blog, so I do think the upgrade worked properly. Who can help me out?

    I am using Tarski

The pages do not show up under Page Admin either Basically the pages no longer exist from either my Blog or under the Admin options.

I have tried several different themes but I am sure it is not theme related as the pages are not listed under Page Management.

    Any assistance is appreciated.

The theme is not the problem. I changed it to Classic or Default and my blog still isn’t visible.

    Anyone has a better solution?

I decided to back out the upgrade and went back to 2.07. Still no joy with the pages so I restored my last backup and voila my pages reappeared. I then upgraded to WP 2.1 again and this time my pages were in place and functional.

I have no idea why my pages disappeared during the initial upgrade but things are working now so I guess I can only recommend backtracking and restoring to get your pages back.

Just started a blog, of course with 2.1, and my newly created pages don’t appear as well. I noticed something strange in the URL. My blog is accessible via a subdirectory. The pages seem to forget the subdirectory in the URL, so instead of https://www.url.net/wp/?page_id=2 it points at https://www.url.net/?page_id=2 which of course is void and shows https://www.url.net. Don’t know how to change this, and hope for a quick upgrade.

mekanik: That’s exactly the problem I’m having.

I just fixed my problem by going into Options and making sure that the Blog address includes the directory where WP is installed (I had taken it off). Then I redirect index.php in my root folder to that directory.

    I don’t understand. I’ve installed my blog into https://www.stevendenboer.nl/weblog

This is also the address that’s in Options in WordPress address (URL) en Blog address. What else do I need to do?

Thanks cookout, your directions were helpful.

After a fresh install of 2.1 (i just started my blog), I needed to change Blog address (URL) in Options to the same address as WordPress address.

Didn’t need to do anything with index.php.

Too early to announce that the solution worked ??

The pages show up, but I cannot alter them. When editing, the edit-space is blank. When editing, IE6 sais Error on page, Access is denied on URL …/wp-admin/post.php?action=edit&post=6.

What do you mean by ‘root,’ cookout? The URL or URL/wp-dir? In the first ‘root’ there is no index.php. What should I do with the second?

Could I try to CHMOD any file? Which one?

Maybe I’m doing things differently. I have WP installed in a subdirectory, but I’m redirecting the home page of my site there. Using your example from above, if someone goes to the home page (www.url.net), they are redirected to https://www.url.net/wp I have an index.php file in the main folder of https://www.url.net that contains only one line of php code, to redirect it to the folder where WP is installed. My Pages are showing up in the sidebar, and I’m able to edit them.

So still no solution. That’s too bad. I kinda hoped I could start blogging again…

I copied the new files from 2.1 over my the old ones and now it works again. This is not a proper solution, but you can close this post if you like.
