integrating forum with blog

I am using wp 2.1 and want to add a forum software to my blog. I have tried rs-discuss forum plugin, which doesn’t work at all.

I am using a three column theme anaconda3C.
Kindly suggest me, which forum software should i opt for. And should i go about it.
