• I can’t be 100% sure that this plugin caused the problem, but as it is the only change I’ve made, I’m not sure what else to think.

Installed v3.0.1 and imported feeds. Set up the RSS feed to share with others. Didn’t check the box to autopost, as I don’t want that.

Following day I find 5 draft posts from recent items in feed. All media items removed from my site.

I restored the site from a backup. Installed the plugin again, following the same process. Same issue again – all media removed from uploads directory/library. This didn’t happen straight away, so must be linked to job or process.

I restored the website again, but this time installed 2.67.68. I’ve added all the feeds I wanted and have virtually identical setting to before, where possible. So far, no issues.

Have you come across this before? Could the issues be linked do you think or not?

Am using the latest WP, with the TwentyFourteen theme.

do you have any thing checked in my plugin to remove feeds after so many days (look in the Global Settings)?

I wouldn’t have selected it it if it was an option (was it a default in 3.0.1?). I can’t see that option in 2.67.68 though, which is what I’m now using.

there are no global settings in 2.67.68…if you were using that version, almost everything in that version is the same as in 3.0.1.

Interested to know what has changed in 3.0.1 to cause such catastrophe…

Let me know how I can help.

here is what happened in 3.0.1

NEW: Option to not use Force-Feed for importing RSS feeds.
Fixed: Google News problem causing duplicate items.
Fixed: iFrame sizing problem and other bugs noted after release of 3.0.

none of these changed the way media images are handled…if you want, you can go back to 3.0. this is a link for that version

also, if you are not using the autoPost, no images from the RSS feeds are being stored on your server (your media library)…the only time the plugin does that is with featured images – which are only available with the autoPost.

so when you say all media items were removed from your site, I can only assume these were items disconnected from my plugin (meaning my plugin did not bring them in)..were these other images you uploaded as media and then found my plugin deleted those media?

Yes, this appears to be the case.

I don’t know if a conflict has caused this to happen.

3.0.1 was the version I installed originally (only came across it on Friday).

I guess I’ll wait until the next version is released before wrestling with an update. If there is a conflict with something else, maybe it would have been resolved by then.

We just had the same thing happen in regard to the update of the WP RSS Multi Importer and all images in the image library completely dumped. When we took a look in the uploads folder we noticed a few random images here and there and within the site we noticed some pages still had images in place, but no images existed in the media library. We were able to roll back to a previous date but it was a lot of noodle scratching. We updated 3 plugins at the same time, but the other two (WordPress SEO and Google Analytics Dashboard don’t seem like the culprits.
