• I have three running websites running an Envision theme…..all three of these sites have two things in common…they are running this plugin (updated from existing installs) and the Envision theme. All of a sudden yesterday, all of my media files disappear from the WordPress control panel under Media…..On the server they are still there though. The other two site I had to manually re-upload each file and relink them.
On the third site which this is happening right now…..it seemed progressive…the site logo was gone, then on one of the pages some where gone…so, I removed your plugin (uninstalled right away). I am now testing to see if that is what was somehow getting into the database and doing some sort of redirect.

nobody else has reported anything like this…are you on a secure server?

Yes, same here. I’ve added a post to this forum. Have ended up using v2.67.68 instead.

Hi, I have same problem. We lost 90% of posts and media files. At first everything was OK, but next day it just happend. I looked for the cause and the only change I made was in activating this plugin (3.0).

    You can look: 4gamers.cz

Do any of you use the Jetpack plugin, with photon activated?

    I don’t.

if you do that (photon takes all images and caches them on their CDN network)…that could take your images and make them disappear

well, look for some other plugin that is messing with your photos…there wasn’t anything in the update that would delete your photos…and, as I said, my plugin only puts media on your server IF you use the autoPost and have chosen to use featured images – otherwise, I only points to the url where the image is.

Photon doesn’t remove images because when deactivating the setting you’d need to use the media that you’ve uploaded. So it doesn’t look like Photon is the issue..

Here are my plugins (not for the website where the image is hosted though). If others have anything in common, please say so.

ok..the only way I can possibly resolve this is give me admin access to to your site by going here

    pw: gonecamping

fyi, I’m going to be gone for 2 weeks so do this asap

I can’t give admin access to my site at the moment, but I have cloned the site and am waiting to see if the issue occurs with the cloned site.

Mediatemple is my hosting platform….I cross referenced the three sites I had this issues and this plugin was the only one I had issues….I am thinking the issue was in the update transition versus a brand new install….yesterday it happened to my main site but as soon as I deleted your plugin (which was an old version updated with about 20 feeds), all my images appeared. I cannot give admin access at the moment but when I have some time I am going to install a fresh version of the plugin on my main website and see what happens. What is weird on the first site it actually deleted the home page first and then a few hours deleted another page called services…..which led me to believe it was getting hacked.

by the way, if the problem here was really my plugin, you would see a lot of people talking about this on this forum. my sense is that there is some plugin conflict or some other setting you have. As an example, there is nothing in the code of the plugin that says make all images go away when its active and make them all come back when its deleted.

I agree with you Allen…..As I mentioned, it only happened to me with sites that use the same theme……I posted my issues on the theme forum as well. I have several other sites that I upgraded to the 3.0+ with different themes and there was not an issue. Chicken and the egg for me. I delete your plugin and the problem goes away. I do believe there is a conflict with this theme which means if other people have had an issue, it must be a way the theme .php files are constructed.

ok..so is the theme Envision that this problem appears to be conflicting with my plugin? If it’s another theme, let me know and I’ll look into this next week. Thanks

I cloned the site, upgraded the plugin and there appears to be no problem.

    The only differences:
    1. updated the plugin instead of installing a fresh 3.0.1
    2. not connected Jetpack to WP
    3. not scheduled a backup job to complete

BTW I’m using the TwentyFourteen theme. I’ll try and whittle down the above list over the next couple of days (need to update because of the RSS load time).
