    Hello!

Whenever I visit my website, a popup comes up that says: “Authentication Required. The server https://mywebsite.com:80 requires a username and password. The server says: OnlyMe. User Name; __ Password:___”

The popup is acting like Malware since it only appears when I’m logged into my WordPress account. (i.e. no one else sees this pop up window except for me, when I’m logged in).

I have a username and password that I type in (from a while ago — I can’t remember where it’s from) that gets me in. But I can’t figure out how to stop it / what OnlyMe is — does anyone know? Thanks!

  • This sounds like an .htaccess password protection was placed on the site for you. When you set this up you can set what it says in the pop-up – in yours it appears to be set as “OnlyMe”. Is there any code in your .htaccess?

    Hi John,
Thanks so much for your reply. I’m not sure how to check the code in my .htaccess file but I can ask Bluehost. I think you’re absolutely right!
