• 1. I run a fansite and I’d like a script to run the tour dates page. I’ve tried every event plugin out there and it either doesn’t do what I need, OR it doesn’t work with the new version.

I need one that has a place for date, time, place, details and a bonus would be if after the date has passed, it is removed from display but not removed completely.

    2. I’m also looking for a way to make the pages less cluttered in the admin panel. Is there a collapse pages plugin? (Where you click on the plus to list all the child pages and click on the minus to only show the parent pages…etc?

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • I wish I could find a script – any script at all, not just for WP – that allows me to manage tour dates also. I just moved to a new city and noticed it doesn’t have a good website for it’s music scene… I need something like what you’re looking for :/

You want to ask the maker of Event Calendar 3 to include an location field. https://wpcal.firetree.net/

… and a notes field, that could be used to store the artist, the participant, or some other info that users need…

have you looked at the plugin : iCal4WP

“iCal4WP Plugin creates iCal subscribable calendars (.ics files) from your events and much more!”

i use it now on every site i develop and my clients seems to like it and appreciate the fact they can add dates to a calendar section on the sidebar to their site.

now, what i have discovered, is you will need to hack or modify a couple lines in the code to allow current dated events to remain posted on teh day that it is happening. otherwise, it drops and cannot be found on the date of occurence. should work for you purposes.

also, just as a side note, when you create the entry, which will be a post, you can make the entry only appear in the calendar and note as a phyical post to your site so your subscribers do not get notified.

let me know if i can be of assistance!

Oh wow ,I really like how that iCal4WP thing sounds. When I got the idea for this new site, I figured I’d try something new so I installed Joomla and I’ve been trying to get things going with it… but I just couldn’t find a good tour/schedule plugin. Now I think I’ll just use WordPress since I’ve been using it since 2004 on my blog and I’m quite comfortable with it. There are just so many things you can add to it!

Anyway, I think this is the fix you were talking about, cre8tive?

    AshleyxCore,

That is the exact website reference, I just was not able to locate it or find it on my browser history, but that is it. Thanks for posting that here. I really think this feature takes the cake when it come to posting schedules or events and dates, and time and stuff.

I originally looked at Mambo (Joomla) back several years ago, but I have to really and honestly say, WordPress take the “enchilada”. I am always amazed at what is next.
