I have activated the Shortcode Embeds module, which says I can use the upcomingevents shortcode just like WordPress.com. But I have the same code on a WordPress.com and non-WordPress.com site. It works on WP.com, but I just see the shortcode on the non-WP.com site.

    Is this a version incompatibility?
    I’m running WP 3.9.2 with Jetpack 3.1.1.

Digging into this more, I found the jetpack/modules/shortcodes.php loads the shortcodes from jetpack/modules/shortcodes/, however, there is no PHP file that adds the ‘upcomingevents’ shortcode in /wp-content/plugins/jetpack/modules/shortcodes.

I believe this is the problem.

When can we get this added to Jetpack?

From what I can find, Jetpack currently supports these shortcodes: [archives], [audio], [bandcamp], [blip.tv], [dailymotion], [digg], [facebook], [flickr], [gist], [googlemaps], [googleplus], [googlevideo], [mixcloud], [polldaddy], [presentation], [slide], [scribd], [slideshare], [slideshow], [soundcloud], [ted], [twitter-timeline], [vimeo], [vine], [youtube]

However, the help file says it supports these: [archives], [audio], [bandcamp], [blip.tv], [dailymotion], [facebook], [flickr], [googlemaps], [jetpack_subscription_form], [polldaddy], [presentation], [scribd], [slideshare], [slideshow], [soundcloud], [ted], [twitter-timeline], [upcomingevents], [vimeo], [vine], [youtube], and [wpvideo (VideoPress)]

    NOTE: Differences are in bold.

    Hi,

The Upcoming Events shortcode and widget are currently on hold. They were slated for inclusion in Jetpack, but shortly before released, they were deemed not ready and held. They’re in the GitHub repo ( https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack ) but are excluded from the build process when the plugin it shipped over to SVN for www.remarpro.com.

The VideoPress shortcode is included as part of the VideoPress module.

Thanks for pointing out the incorrect documentation for upcomingevents. I’m removing that now.

We’ll add documentation for the other shortcodes as well. Thanks!
