RSS feed for a Learnerblogs site

  • I am familiar with how to bring in an RSS feed to a Wikispaces site but wonder if this is possible on a Learnerblogs site … perhaps through the HTML editor?

    On a Wikispaces page, for example, I can edit and input the following Code:

    [[rss url=”https://www.loc.gov/rss/pao/web.xml” title=”Library of Congress News on the Web”]]

    How can I do this in Learnerblogs? I’m also familiar with getting the necessary java script from https://feed2js.org/ Would this work on Learnerblogs?

    You should probably be asking Learnerblogs for support since only you and they know what their setup is but anyway…

    You should have what are known as sidebar widgets within your setup. Please take a look at Dashboard -> Presentation -> Sidebar Widgets for something called RSS 1, RSS 2, etc. You can move these building blocks from your Available Widgets box into your Sidebar box by clicking and dragging them. After you do so, you’ll note that there’s a little white box in there with a couple lines. Click on that and you should see the option to enter the URL for an RSS feed. Do that and the system will display the feed within the sidebar of your blog.

    edit: For any old hands here, the poster is on a WPMu site and I’m assuming since it’s the site of a regular over at the WPMu forums that they have the widgets installed.

    Thank you for your suggestion to go directly to Learnerblogs support – this makes good sense. I did try to look under Dashboard > Presentation but there are no further tabs or options available … just the choice of themes.

    There is a tab which says ‘Forums’ and a link to support through teh backend of edublogs / learnerblogs but I need to improve the visibility of these.

    So, edublogs, learnerblogs, eslblogs or uniblogs users can go to https://edublogs.org/forums/ for help and support.

    Sorry for the bother regular WP.org forum members.
