Help with system

  • Hi, I’m not sure where to put this thread but I am running a website for a club. Our club has members who must reach a certain amount of points and I would like to have a system where I can update their points on somewhere and then I can have a form on my wordpress page where they can input their club number and see how many points they have. How would I approach creating something like this? Do I need to create a database of some sort and coding? Or do you know any existing scripts like this? Thanks

  • It will need a database.
    Each member will get their own wordpress login, they will register online, you will approve each registration.
    I would expect there to be plugins to do what you want, most likely it will need to be configured and customised.

    There are many others.

    I want to upload some older material I have written previously, as archived posts. I don’t want them to post ahead as a new post, simply ant them to show up as older archived submissions to the blog.

    Can that be done, I’m using the free WP platform.

    Yes, it is possible to adjust the date of authorship of posts and pages.
    If it is only a limited number of articles, the simplest way is to compose entries from scratch using copy/paste. If there are LOTS of articles then it may be worth doing a bulk import.

    Dashboard > All Posts or All Pages
    Each has a QUICK EDIT option, there is a date picker there.
    Also EDIT option has a Publish date, option to edit it
