    Hi Nancy,

Can you try to reinstall via Plugins->Add New? If it says it is already installed, can you delete it via the Plugins page (if listed)?

If it isn’t listed there and it won’t install again (saying it already exists), you may need to delete the wp-content/plugins/jetpack folder via FTP or your hosting provider’s file manager.

What happened, most likely, is your server hiccuped during the upgrade process causing it to fail halfway through it. Some of the plugin’s files are there but not enough to keep the plugin running (so it “fell” out of the dashboard).

    Thanks!

I am having the same problem. JetPack is no longer listed on my Plugins page but when I try to install it, I get an error message that installation failed because the destination files already exist.

I don’t know how to go into the FTP or hosting providers file manager. Can you help me further?

I actually got it fixed by calling my hosting provider who helped me delete the Jetpack file, so I could reinstall. The plugin is back and working. I recovered all my past stats but no stats were recorded during the time that Jetpack was not working.

Brandon’s assumption about what happened appears to be the source of the problem.

    Thank you!

Yup, checking with your hosting provider was the right call. Each hosting process could have a different set of basic instructions on how to delete a folder via FTP, so great thought there.
