• We have some images we want to show above the Front Page Content Boxes and the FontAwesome CSS icons are just not adequate (our images are too specific). Is there some way to make that happen? Is there some codeword to use to allow an image?

You can change the theme code, but then that means you can’t update it unless you make a child theme first.

    Hello.

I do not know how to do code. This is what I did.

    1. Created a “draft post”. (Just using it to create my HTML code for me… then trashed it.)
    2. Added images from my media library that I wanted for my content boxes.
    3. Centered them in the post (need centered to get that HTML centering code for the image for content box).
    4. Switched to text where I can see the HTML code to clip and paste HTML code.
    5. I added – clipped and posted pic HTML codes to Content Box Button (before existing code). You can also put the pic in the description area using HTML code. I liked placement better under description.
    6. I changed the size on the pic and ratio’d so that the pics are the same height for all three content boxes.

So, it ended up that I have images under the description. Because I centered the pics… and all are the same height… they look good… and the “Learn More” button shows up under each pic I did.

I could do better and make pictures all the same width as well as height… but for me, height was good enough for right now. (I may monkey with it and do different pictures so the pics are perfectly symmetrical in same size – both height and width later).

Anyway, this works user side for a novice…like me… who chooses to be inventive that side… cuz I don’t know how to code… and do not want to learn. ??

first, Laura Lee, thanks a lot for your comment. I followed your advice and my content box looked and worked great!

    at least until now ??

I downloaded the new version 3.1.6 and a fourth content box appeared in my home page. So I repeated the instructions above, which as I said had worked perfectly with the three boxes in the former version, and ALL four boxes disappeared from the home page

Please help! the content boxes were very important for my site

Custom Content boxes can also be accomplished by enabling the header widgets and using the Black Studio TinyMCE Widget plugin to edit the content of your widgets easily.

Arg… I need to create a multilingual site, had my site done on another theme but had to change because it was not completely compatible with WPML.

While I very much like Evolve, I too have the issue of the icons!! I have small pictures that I want to use and don’t know how to do it… How do I create a child theme that will not be overwritten by the next update?

Wish the designers would give us the option to either go with logo or a small picture…

Also, I’m quite new at WordPress. How do I figure out what size of picture I need for each placement? I don’t want my site to slow to load, but still look good on large screens. ??

    Thanks you in advance.

    Folks… I give up!

I searched and read all I could find and can’t find a way to do it. I can’t put this on hold while I look for a solution, so sadly had to switch theme (Virtue).

    Hi

Just wondering if this has moved along at all or if there’s been any further information on if it’s possible to use custom images rather than font awesome icons for the content boxes, without changes being erased after an update?

    Thanks

Can someone explain how the TinyMCE plugin would work for this?
