• Hi,

I have inherited a site run by WordPress.

Every time a post is made there are people who are receiving a new post email notification.

I am fairly new to WordPress but there is NO subscribe plugin installed.

Can anyone help me get to the bottom of where the email addresses that are receiving new post updates might be stored – is there some standard default subscribe feature I am not aware of?

    Many thanks in advance.

    H.

  • It’s possible they’re getting the new post notification from somewhere like feedburner as a result of your RSS feed being updated.

Thanks – I have noticed that the emails come with this in the header info:

    Client PHPMailer 5.2.7 (https://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMailer/)

I may thinking that there may be a database somewhere that the Mailer is using to perform a send when a new post is made.

    I can’t think of anything else…
