• I’ve tried Google Analytics, Statcounter, ShortStat, and WordPress Reports to try to analyze the hits on my site at https://idratherbewriting.com, but it always says no hits — even when I know people are visiting the site because they’re leaving comments. Is there any kind of setting that I might have that is blocking stats for the site?

  • Have you checked to see if your host has AWStats?

Have you asked your host if there’s something blocking the recording of the stats?

I just flipped on AWStats, and apparently it takes 36-72 hrs to compile stats. But another feature — a log analyzer, shows the last 300 people who visited the site, and there are enough to merit some stats.

I did check with my host (bluehost), but they said nothing is blocking google analytics or any other hit counter. he had no idea.

I really am in the dark about why it’s not working.

Apparently I had some kind of clicky stats script installed in the header that was causing the conflict.
