Apple friendly animation?

  • I would like to overlay a flash animated signature on my homepage, but I know Apple mobile devices do not support flash. Short of converting it to an animated GIF and ending up with a massive file size, is there any other animation format I can use that will be viewable on all devices?

    Also, is it actually possible to overlay an animation just on the homepage in WP? I’d like the static image on the homepage to fade in (as it already does) and then for the animated signature to begin on it’s own “layer” over top of it.
