• My site designer and I separated 2 years ago. I need to learn and mimic his method for giving a page a custom visual background. So far I’ve learned the background is NOT controlled through the Parent page or his choice of template. I believe that a custom background is specified in one of the PHP or CSS files I could edit. IF I can find the code he used to give my “Energy” page a custom background, I could mimic that code and apply it to a new page.

Before I attempt any changes, I will back up my site. Do I hear any suggestions for how to proceed?

  • Hey there,

I think the first suggestion would be to share a link please, I can then take a peek. ??

In general WordPress will provided classes in the body tag, for example the home page would be .home-page and .home, there are then others for single, single-post and for specific pages you have postid-ID, the ID being the post ID.

If you’re wanting to know the CSS for a specific page and background on your site then please link me to that page.

    Take care.
