Issue with LW and WP App

  • My blog is no longer allowing Live Writer and my WP app to access my blog. I’ve been through all of the trouble shooting with GoDaddy and haven’t found a reason for this sudden lack of communication.

    I am running WP 3.9.1 I have disabled all plugins. I have changed themes. Nothing seems to help. Here is the message I keep getting:

    An unexpected error has occured while attempting to log in:
    Network Connection Error- Error attempting to connect to blog at:
    https://samsnoggin.com/xmlrpc.php
    The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a receive.

    Any thoughts?

    I just got off support chat with GoDaddy and they indicated that they disabled everything that uses xmlrpc.php because there is a security vulnerability with it. Basically what they told me is that Windows Live Writer won’t work until WordPress releases a patch to fix the vulnerability.

    Thanks! So it is godaddy! They pawned it off on everyone else and said they couldn’t help me. Does WP know about this issue? Will there be a patch? This makes me sad, I adore live writer!
