There has been a nagging conflict with some themes and the position and width of the testimonial content box and thumbnail photos. After trying a different approach and testing in many popular (free) themes, I believe I have this fixed in version 1.8.

If your testimonials now look off, try removing any custom CSS rules that apply to Strong Testimonials – for instance, if I told you to try adding this or that, or you found a solution on a forum somewhere – to see how the plugin’s new stylesheet works.

Nuts and Bolts vs. Paint and Chrome

Plugins are loaded after themes so I tried to keep this plugin’s style rules primarily structural (nuts and bolts) – aside from the basic layout inherited from the original plugin, which I plan to make optional soon – so your theme can provide the look (paint and chrome).

But if you still don’t like the way the plugin styles the testimonials, you can skip loading the stylesheets (one each for pages, form, widgets) in the Testimonials Settings page.

  • The short code in a text box, in the sidebar is being formatted to over lap with the content on the main body. I’ve only seen it on the testimonials page; and that page uses the short code to show all.

Please help me re-create the problem.
    Oxygen theme, yes?
Cycle shortcode in a text widget in which sidebar?
    Which shortcode on the page?

    yes Oxygen
    main sidebar (left)
    in text widget [wpmtst-cycle]

I sent you an e-mail with a screen shot.

    That sidebar is only 160px.
    The image is 150px.
The testimonial has 20px padding on both sides.
    So we’re at least 190px.
Removing the image helps, but the quote symbol is 40px and the first word of the title is 126px plus 40px padding = 206px.
Removing the quote symbol helps but 126px plus 40px padding = 166px which is still wider than the sidebar.

    Diagnosis:
    1. The sidebar is too narrow.
    2. You’re trying to shoehorn the cycle shortcode, which was meant for pages, into a place it cannot fit.

    Recommendations:
    Either
    1. Make the sidebar wider. That theme uses percentages so that means you will have adjust the sibling components as well.
    or
    2. Wait until I get the Excerpt and “Read more link to testimonial” options working for the widget too.
