Pretty sure something else did that. The plugin doesn’t change any image sizes (dimensions), so the formatting of your theme would not change. What else did you do recently?

That was the only thing I did. Everything goes back to normal when I activate the original theme, but the child theme doesn’t retain the formatting. I’m thinking about making a new child theme to see if that solves the problem.

I would try a new theme and see what happens. Did you run the Scan & Optimize, or just the regular Bulk Optimize that does the Media Library?

I’m not sure but probably just bulk optimize.

The Scan & Optimize function is the only thing that even touches theme images, but it does child AND parent theme images, so it would have affected both if there was even any possibility of it breaking something in the first place. Scan & Optimize doesn’t do any conversions, only pure lossless optimization, so I would be very shocked if it was actually the culprit in this situation.
