Why .com Blog Still Alive After Transferred to .org?

Two years ago, I transferred my wordpress.com website over to a self-hosted .org platform. Yet my wordpress.com is still alive and even shows up in Google searches.

There are no new posts, mind you, but the feed is alive with my most recent posts on my .org site.

Having both sites looks unprofessional, confusing, and just down-right messy!

I’d like to get rid of the wordpress.com website for good but keep my account open. Is that possible? I’ve been on my wordpress.com account and and can’t figure out how to fix this!

Any help would be appreciated.
