• I’m looking to update an installation. But with 4.0 just around the corner, is it safe to assume that the default WP themes 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 will be supported?

Is there a safe way to choose a new theme at this point so that it is compatible, or is this not a good time to make a change?

    thanks in advance!

Yes. The Twenty series themes will continue to be supported for the foreseeable future.

You can see the compatibility of any theme distributed on www.remarpro.com at: https://wp-themes.com/

Put the theme name on the end of the URL to test it.

That site will always be using the latest version of WordPress, including alpha/ beta stages!

View the source code to find out which version it’s using.
