Formatted Text not displaying

I’m a novice to blogging & HTML so please bear with me while we try to figure this out…

I’m running a custom template on the hybrid theme and formatted text is not showing up on the home page. When I preview my post, the formatting (such as bold, italics, underline, etc.) is shown correctly, but once the post is published the formatting is only viewable on the posts actual page, not on the home page. The exception is my very first blog post. This one does not show any formatting regardless of whether you’re viewing it from the home page or from it’s own page.

Any thoughts on how to correct this? Thank you!
