No slider appearing, grid version looks horrible

I’ve made the slider posts I want to feature sticky, tagged them as Featured and I’m running child theme version of 2014 — could one of the 2014-augmenting plugins be the problem or am I doing something fundamentally wrong in the process of adding material to the slider? Thanks!
