I accidentally deleted a user who had created some events and locations. The events and locations were lost when the user was deleted. However, I have a snapshot of the entire folder holding the entire wordpress site from a few days prior. I have been able to restore media uploads using the snapshot. I also found the user’s posts in the trash. Unfortunately, though, I have not been able to locate the events or locations. Does anyone know where they might be hiding?

    Thanks!

The event posts did not appear in the trash as the other posts did. Is there another trash for events? I don’t see them listed as unpublished either.

Actually, yes. I see the locations in the trash. Not the events, though.

Under Events > Events you should see a Trash folder. That’s the only place that deleted events go to before finally being deleted.

Thank you. I understand exactly what and where you mean, but there is no trash. It’s odd. I see the trash in Locations and in Posts outside outside of EM. However, not in Events > Events.

This image show Trash in Locations.

This image shows no Trash in Events.

That’s odd. Can you see the trashed events if you look directly in the database?

I don’t know. I don’t have much experience with the db side of things. Where should I look?

Re database: If they are supposed to be in wp-em-events, I do not see them there. Is there someplace else I should look?

Yes, wp_em_events is the correct database table. If the events aren’t in that table they’re are gone.

Is it possible the user deleted their events some time before you deleted the account? Maybe you have an older backup you can use?

No. She Unfortunately did not delete them prior to me deleting her. I will look for a back-up of the db. If there are snapshots of the rest of the files, could there be a snapshot of the db, too? I will find out.

Depends on your backup process. It sounds like it takes a snapshot of everything, in which case you may be able to find an older backup.
