• Whenever I put up a new blog post and add a “featured image” (one of those huge pictures that goes ABOVE the post text), it interferes with the visual layout of my slider.

My slider is at the top of my page and already uses feature images. But my normal blog feed below ALSO uses these feature images, so all the images end up competing visually.

    Here’s what I’m talking about: https://www.youngprodigy.com

How can I make my blog roll NOT display the featured images until after a reader clicks into the specific blog post? I’d like the featured image to show up then, but not on the blog roll excerpts.

    Thanks!

I was told I need to create a child theme that somehow customizes my blog feed template. Basically, create a blog feed code that lets featured images display differently. Would anyone be kind enough to provide the lines of code to accomplish this?

My “categories” and “archives” pages are displaying featured images at full size too when I only want a thumbnail and excerpted section in either a list or grid form.

    Thanks!
