    Hi Arnee,

Great plugin by the way, I’ve used it for a long time now and it’s been perfect. So, thank you for that first.

However, unfortunately, since I updated to the latest version (and got the new sitemap structure) my Google WMT has gone haywire and dropped all of my indexed pages. It currently shows:

    • 0 Errors
    • 0 Warnings
    • 110 Submitted
    • 2 Indexed

    Date Processed: Jun 20, 2014

Do you know why it’s gone from having 100% indexed (on previous version of the plugin) to just 2% (on the new version)? For a screenshot see: https://twitter.com/bnwebdesign/status/481821805452472320

I can’t work it out for the life of me. There’s no warnings or indexing errors being shown, nor does the sitemap show any warnings or errors. I’ve also followed all of the steps in your sticky forum post relating to this same issue; although that seems to suggest the error was fixed as it was posted two months ago, and you’ve said Google rectified the problem.

Oh, and one more thing. I’ve set it up so that my sitemap.xml shows on the root of my blog (wordpress is installed to a subdirectory). If I have done this properly and it works, should the sitemap still show links containing the subdirectory? ie. https://www.bnewton.co.uk/blog/sitemap-externals.xml instead of https://www.bnewton.co.uk/sitemap-externals.xml <- for some reason the /blog/ remains, even though I told my sitemap to work on my root.

Please could you advise, I’m very lost! Thanks very much in advance for your time.

    Kind Regards,
    Ben

Okay, so turns out I’m being a little impatient expecting Google to crawl my new sitemap so soon. I’ve just noticed a message in my Google WMT > Sitemaps dashboard saying “URLs ready for crawling”.

Apologies for raising the alarm so soon, I had wrongly assumed when Google told me my sitemap was “processed”, that they meant crawled. It turns out that processing comes just after submission, then crawling. Happy days.

Hopefully in a week or two – this should be updated. If not, I shall know to raise a support ticket again to let you know and see if anybody can help. For now though, it seems I’m in the clear.
