    Currently, Whenever I create a new page (after I publish it), it is no longer automatically showing on my website. This option used to work, now it doesn’t. Instead, what I have to do now after I publish the new page, is go to appearance->menu->select the new page & add to menue->then, drag it to the parent page it needs to be listed under.

    And yes, when I initially created the page, I selected the option to either make it a parent page or a child page.

    HELP Me Please! I would like to go back to the original function of just creating & publishing the page (parent or child) without the extra (menu) steps…

  • Perhaps you need to review custom menus?

    This info is not helpful to me.

    The info that I need, is how to go back to the simple way of publishing my pages without having to manually mess with the custom menu to get my pages to show on my website after I publish them…

    Up until Saturday, I was able to do this…

    In my experience, if the option to do so is selected, WordPress only automatically adds new top-level static pages (i.e., pages that are not the child of another static page) to the menu. Can you verify that you have not selected a page in the “Parent” dropdown box in the “Page Attributes” section of the editor? Also, can you verify that the option has been set correctly for the custom menu that you’re using?

    I currently have 10 parent pages, and quite a few sub-pages in various categories. to make sure that I am explaining myself correctly, this is my site >>> https://michelleshotdeals.com/

    Now, for your the second question “verify that the option has been set correctly for the custom menu”. What do I need to look out for? Because, I’m guessing that this is where my problem lies… In the menu…

    I really appreciate any assistance with this.

    Go to your Dashboard, and then select Appearance > Menus. On the right-hand side of the screen, in the section marked “Menu Structure”, there should be a checkbox marked “Auto add pages”. Make sure that box is checked, and then click the “Save Menu” button.

    Hi mdenny1029,

    “Chocolat” was updated to ver1.1.1 and the “social link” was newly added to the menu.
    Function of the “Global Navigation” has not changed, but, please check the following.

    1. You are using version of “Chocolat” What?

    2. I saw your Web site.
    Do you want to display the Pages (not “Posts” page) list on the menu?

    3. View WordPress Administration Screens (Dashboard) > Appearance > “Menus” Page.
    Click “Manage Locations”tab.
    Global Navigation: Pull-down menu is selected?

    @stephencottontail:
    I followed your steps. I also created an entirely new menu and re-added all my pages. I did created a new parent page labeled ‘Misc’, which did automatically show on my site after I published it. Then, I created a sub-page (Labeled Groupon) that I need to fall under the Parent page label ‘Misc’ (I selected Misc from the option when I created it) and it still didn’t automatically show on my site after I publish it… I had to go the menu and manually add it.

    @mignon Style:

    Not sure what you are asking me to do.

    I get the exact same behavior, so I’m pretty sure this is how it’s intended to work. You could try this plugin: Auto Submenu, but I’m not sure how well it works.
