Content Type Doesn't Work

Hello,
I’m having an issue with the widget. When I try to set the “Content Type”, it will close the drop-down list as soon as I try and choose a different option. So I’m stuck with “Show Excerpt” as my only option…except I want to determine the length.
Please help!
