Can I Limit Visible Posts By Category In My Blog?

Is it possible to limit what posts are visible on the blog page of my site?
On my home page, all of the interactive squares are actually posts. So, at present, now that I have added a blog page, ALL posts are visible. Is it possible to limit that in some way, say by post category?
