How to Turn Comments ON

    I am having a hell of a time here. I have tried taking off all new plug-ins and I have also tried a simpler theme and in that simple theme it says that Comments OFF on the page under the title… but I have it set to ON and the post is Public and I have checked all of the appropriate boxes to allow posts.. any suggestions?

    – Have you checked appropriate boxes in the settings:
    Admin > Settings > Discussion

    – Then where you create/edit posts or pages in admin, check if you have ticked comments for your posts/pages in the “discussion” box below the editor. If you don’t see the “discussion” box there, in the ‘screen option’ dropdown field (located near the top right), there are tickboxes to show the ‘discussion’ box for the posts/pages. Tick mark it. In the ‘discussion’ box below the post/page editor, you can then allow/disallow comments for the page.

    If still havig the issue, then tell us:

    – what theme are you using?
    – What version of WP are you using?

    It’s most likely the theme you are using, but you may want to review the Discussion Settings for WP and when your are creating a page or post, click on “Screen Options” on the top right and check “Discussion”, then you should see “Discussion” options below.

    I’m a little embarrassed that worked. Question do I have to go through this with all posts (since I never had this problem before)? Thanks for the help!
