  • @robertosalemi, link the gallery to a page entitled with the name of the gallery, and you’ll have the title of the gallery in that page (if your template provides the_title).

    Thanks Tizz,
    this are my steps for create my page https://www.fotoclublegru.it/torneo-le-gru/:
    1) I created an album with Galery -> Manage Album -> Add new album and in this I inserted the galleries;
    2) I created a page and in this I inserted my album with dedicated button (ngg_attach_to_post).

    It works fine.

    I not want to create single page for every gallery because the site is more slow now, I’m afraid for to the future!

    I ask: Can i associate a custom template for my album so it shows the title of every gallery in the gallery page?

    Thanks.

    @robertosalemi@tizz’s suggestion is probably the best and simplest way to accomplish what you are describing in your OP.

    You may also be able to create a custom template to display the same information but having a page for each gallery should not create any significant performance issue on your site.

    @robertosalemi – We do offer some limited documentation on creating custom templates here: https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/templates/ if that will be of any service to you.

    One of the “tricks” I use when creating custom templates is to build a reference template that uses the PHP var_dump() function to see what data is available to use.

    Why exactly has NextGen never included the gallery title at the top of the page? Surely everyone would like to see it?

    If you have an album called “2014 photos” (e.g. here: https://www.elite-wings.co.uk/photos/2014-photos/), containing thumbnails for several galleries (each for a different event that year), clicking a thumbnail yields another page of thumbnails. But the page title is still the same – that must confuse lots of people!

    Surely it’s trivial to add the gallery title? I used to add it to “view\gallery.php” manually, but of course that didn’t survive the numerous plugin updates – so I got fed up of doing it. Why don’t you add it – even make it an option if there is a good reason not to show the title sometimes?

    @big Mac – You are very welcome to put this forward as a Feature Request here: https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/feature-voting/

    Thanks!
