• Hi,

    I have a wordpress website at limerickjazzfestival.com

I always use the login page at /wp-login.php
And I am 100% certain that I am using the correct username and password, as it then takes me the the url https://www.limerickjazzfestival.com/wp-admin/

However, it just shows a blank screen. No information seems to be returning. Even different iterations like https://www.limerickjazzfestival.com/wp-admin/themes.php do not work.

I am very confused by this, and would appreciate any help on the subject. It is quite urgent.

I also have a Blacklist plugin installed, and believe I entered the wrong password/username at one stage yesterday, which may be relevant to this, but I doubt it.

This is what my screen looks like.

Again, any light on this problem would be greatly appreciated!

Our hosting website is Dreamhost too.
Again, any help on this would be great!

Try renaming your plugins folder in /wp-content/ to plugins.hold. You can do this through your cPanel or by FTP. This will disable all your plugins and allow you access back into the site if a plugin conflict is causing the issue. Then, rename your plugins folder back to plugins, and reactivate your plugins one by one until you identify the problem plugin. Finally, search for posts relating to your issue in the support forum for that plugin, or if necessary, post your issue there for support.

    Good luck!

Hi. Thanks a lot for your reply! Unfortunately I don’t have the sites files offline… I’ve never really operated that way. Only edited the site via wp CP online.

So is there some way I can find these files? Or another way to tackle what you just said. Thanks in advance!

You can do this through your cPanel or by FTP.

You need to access this folder on your remote server.

Hi, Okay I am transferring my files to my computer so I can try to fix this remotely and re-upload.
I will try the trick for the plugins first and let you know.

If it’s not a plugin that’s causing it, what might I try next?

There is no real need to transfer the files to your local computer, unless this is a backup you are making. You just rename the plugins folder, which deactivates all the plugins. If you can then login, then you know that one of the plugins is causing the conflict. Then you return teh plugins folder to its original name, and try activating them one by one until you can isolate the conflicting plugin.

    Hi Barnez,

That’s great. I’m using Filezilla, so do I just need to connect to the server and then rename the folder from there? Will it automatically change/re-upload?

    Thanks

Yes, it worked! I am delighted. Thanks so much. Hopefully I figure out which plugin was the culprit and it doesn’t happen again.

I’m almost certain I’ll be back here for more help soon.
    Thanks a bunch!

Fantastic. I would enable your most recently installed or updated plugins plugins last. Good luck!
