• Hi i have a difficult wordpress problem in front of me. I’m developing the site that has two user roles Teachers and students. They have a frontend user registration form that is complex and has multiple custom fields. Teacher form should register user with role of teacher. Student the same, has custom fields and should register users with role student. Also both user roles can create and edit content and user profiles via frontend form and not try admin. What is the best way to do this. And where to start.

  • Sounds like you are going to need a membership plug-in in order to manage this correctly.

You can check out buddypress.com or a do a search on google for WordPress membership sites

They both might work depending on what you’re trying to do.

Hi, thanks for the answer. There are many awesome plugins that can help with those king of websites but i’m doing this custom. The design and client requirements are little “unusual” ?? so i must code all the features by hand.
If i have time i will post a little how-to on this topic.
    Thank you.

From your requirements you might need a combination of a user registration plugin and a front-end posting one. Here are two that we worked on, which play well together and might save you lots of development time:
Profile Builder allows setting up multiple registration forms with different profile fields
WCK Front-end posting – which offers an easy way to add content from the front-end

    Hope this helps.
