Hi, I’m using this on a multisite installation and it is working great to hide submenu items (ie -settings-permalinks) from all but super_admins,
but i can’t hide the main entry (settings), or any of the main entries.
when set to “required capability=super_admin” the main menu entries still appear for all levels of users.
same result when trying other high level required capabilites.

is this by design, or a possible bug?
    thank you.

To hide a top level menu, you’ll need to hide all of its submenu items first. This is just how WordPress works – as long as a top level menu has at least one visible submenu, WP will keep that main menu visible regardless of settings.

Ah, that makes perfect sense and it works great.
