cannot access site when restore using backupbuddy olugin

When I restore a site using backupbuddy I get a 404 error when trying to access my login page through your plugin. I have to deactivate your plugin via ftp to gain access to my site admin
what mechanisms do you use to change the login page, i.e. through htaccess file etc..
