    The counter only works if it is included on “singular” pages.

    From what I see on the plugin site for Read More is that you can execute a script when the event is triggered. Could you check with the developer for the code to do so.
    You’ll need to be able to execute a call to “top-10-addcount.js.php” similar to line 70 of top-10.php
