• I’m sorry if this is redundant but I haven’t seen any posts that address this exact issue.

When I create a new post, the paragraph tags seem to insert and work properly. If I edit that post in the WYSIWYG editor, even if I don’t change certain lines, sometimes one or two paragraph tags will mysteriously change themselves to line break tags. The result can look like this:

    ***

    Original text blah blah…

    Original text blah blah…

    Changed text blah blah…
    Changed text blah blah…

    ****

It does this even if I edited or added a completely separate line, sometimes I have to edit an entry two or three times just to correct the mysterious line breaks. I’m not inserting any graphics or blockquotes or preformatted text, just normal plain posts. Oh – I suppose there were a couple of links in the post I added today, but that’s it.

    I’m using WordPress 2.0.4.

  • i had the same problem.
    anyone had some solution?

you could just type in html mode. then you can see clearly if wordpress is adding anything.

I am having the same problem. It seems that in the default editor sees a <br/> and a <p> side by side, it deletes the <p>.

This is problematic because clients don’t know how to edit the HTML.

Does this bug have a fix? I don’t want to upgrade to 2.1 to avoid having to re-install plugins, fix bugs etc…

    Thanks in advance.
