Permalinks not working

  • I cannot get permalinks to work. I have enabled the apache mod_rewrite module and have added the necessary rewrite rules to the .htacess file according to the wordpress codex. I am running PHP 5.5.12. The only structure that is working is the default structure, so it is obviously a rewrite issue, but I cannot seem to point out the problem.

    The only structure that is working is the default structure

    System Requirements for 3.9.1 are:
    ?PHP version 5.2.4 or higher. (You said you have 5.5.12)
    ?MySQL version 5.0 or higher. (check this on your system)

    System Recommendations
    ?The mod_rewrite Apache module. (You said you have done this)

    Try reading Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure again.

    As I mentioned above, I have already read that link and could not find a solution.
