Broken editor after updating to 3.9

  • Hi, I have the same problem as a lot of others, the editor doesn’t work after upgrading to 3.9.1.

    I have reinstalled 3.9 and striped it, so there are no plugins and just the Twentyfourteen theme. I’ve tried four different web browsers. I’ve put the define(‘SCRIPT_DEBUG’, true); in the config. My web hotel has checked their settings and everything looks fine there.

    These are the errors I get, they vary a bit depending on what page I try:
    [Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden) (wp-mediaelement.css, line 0)

  • Looks like you have some permission issues on your site. Have you spoken to your hosts about this?

    Thank you for fast repsons! Yes I have spoken to them and they said that it was odd permissions, but that they have fixed it.

    Is there something more I can tell them to do, a little more specific?

    Sorry – no. Looks like they haven’t sorted out all of the permission issues. Try sending them a copy of that error message.
