View the calendar here … https://the-rv-life.com/rv-shows-events/ … what I want you to see is that,

    * For dates in 2014 … the calendar displays them thusly:
    October 10 – 19

    * For dates in 2015 … the calendar displays them thusly:
    January 7, 2015 – January 10, 2015

    ****************

I definitely prefer the latter. Any thoughts on why this is happening? And yes I am using the most current edition of The Events Calendar … Version 3.5.1 and the WP is current as well.

    Thanks much,
    B

    Hi B,

Thanks for your note. The behavior you’re seeing is how the plugin is designed to work. By default, events in the current year do not show the year, while events in other years do. We are implementing some date format options in an upcoming release that may make it possible for you to change this so that the year always shows. Otherwise, you would need to dig into the code in order to force the date to show on events in the current year.

    Best,
    Leah

    Hey Leah ?? !

The new release is out, yay, Version 3.6, from what I can see of the new release, and the date formats, we still cannot alter the display, as I had referred to above, … and look see below, …

    * For dates in 2014 … the calendar displays them thusly:
    October 10 – 19

    * For dates in 2015 … the calendar displays them thusly:
    January 7, 2015 – January 10, 2015

Please correct me if I am not understanding! ??

    Thanks so much,
    B

    Hi B,

I apologize for the misinformation. It looks like the new settings do not allow the kind of option you’re looking for. Events within this year always display without the year. I’m afraid that if you need to change that you’ll need to dig into the code yourself.

As outlined in our forum guidelines, we aren’t able to help with these kinds of customizations. But we do have some handy resources that might be helpful for you:

Good luck, and thanks for using The Events Calendar!
