Shortcode doesn't seem to work if sitewide is ticked on?

Yes this is normal. If you don’t want it to be sitewide then uncheck the sitewide option and manually insert the shortcode onto the pages you do want it on. Unfortunately you can’t override the sitewide option by adding a shortcode to the page. I might try to resolve this in the future but I’m not going to make any promises.
