'Your new wordpress' email link does not work

  • Registered with hostgator and installed WP. Got email that says:
    “Your installation is ready. You can access it now by going to https://laurieannesims.com/ “
    All i see is a page with my site name at the top and a bunch of marketing ads. What do I do now?

    – Have you discussed this with your hosting provider?
    – Check and see if there is an index.html file in your site’s root directory. Some hosts put one in there as a default, and wordpress doesn’t remove it when it’s being installed. If you see it there, delete or rename it to allow wordpress’ index.php to work, and see if it fixes the problem (but do not alter the index.php file).

    – Have you writen any post yet?

    It looks like your domain name is correctly pointed at your hosting at HostGator https://leafdns.com/index.cgi?testid=B860F922 and your pages loads up, but it’s entirely white.

    Contact HostGator support and let them know you just installed WP and it’s loading up a blank/white page. They can log in and check the files to ensure it was installed correctly and that there isn’t an issue with your .htaccess file that would cause it to load blank.

    Thanks all
    Talked w/ Hostgator. Jose said it looks good but could take 24-48 hrs to populate. I’ll sit on my hands until tomorrow and see what happens.
