• Resolved Action Turtle

    (@benjaminbernard)

    Hi,
I just installed wp smushit. But when I try to smush a image i get the ERROR: Could not find /usr/share/nginx/html/wp-content/uploads/2014/05

I assume this is because I am using the S3 and Cloudfront plugin to move all my files from the server to my S3 bucket.

So can smushit not work if the S3 plugin is installed? Makes sense it would not work but was wondering if there was a way to make it work… Or if S3 and cloudfront is so fast that this is a mute point…

Thanks for any feed back ??

  • Hi @benjamin Bernard,

Greetings and thanks for posting! The plugin can only work with local images, it wouldn’t work for images that are on a different server, etc.

Perhaps a solution like this might work for your files on S3?

Hope that helps, any questions on this, please feel free to ask. We’re happy to help! ??

    Cheers,
    David

makes total sense… i am going opt for the easy route and not optimize my images right now… maybe later… but most are small anyway… Thanks for the quick response ??

Any plan to have smushit run completely on the server so it can smush the image before sending it to S3 or other plugins people might use?

    Hi @benjamin Bernard,

Thanks for your reply! We’re actually looking at some advanced possibilities with this one, though I couldn’t confirm anything specific at this time and haven’t heard of any plans to integrate with S3 as such just yet.

Sounds like a great idea though, something I’ll be sure to mention to the developers for consideration. ??

    Cheers,
    David
