  • Well, there’s nothing wrong with www.remarpro.com, so this must be an issue with your hosts’ server. Have you contacted them about it?

    I attempted to set-up a blog page on www.remarpro.com and got the same error so I installed WordPress on my host and got the same error. How do I fix the problem?

    You cannot set any blogs on www.remarpro.com. Are you perhaps referring to wordpress.com?

    Yes sorry

    You can’t update themes. Or, in fact, update anything on wordpress.com sites. Also, I’m sorry but you are in the wrong place to report an issue on a wordpress.com site. These forums are for self-hosted WordPress sites only. You could try asking about this on https://en.forums.wordpress.com/

    I have a self hosted WordPress site what I said was that I had the same problem on wordpress.com so I moved to my hosting site Buldhost and the problem followed me.

    so…
    I am running WordPress 3.9.1 hosed on Blue Host and when I attempt to upload a WordPress Theme, I get the following error. An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.remarpro.com or this server’s configuration.

    All I am attempting to do is upload a theme to the WordPress platform installed on my hosting site, it seems that I need to change a setting some where all I need is some one to tell what I should look at and what may be the problem..

    Is there any one who can help me with this problem??

    Well this is the last time I use this product WordPress gives no support to its own products and is unable or unwilling to help me resolve a problem. All I get told is get help somewhere else…

    I am very disappointed..

    Last chance is there anyone who is able to help me resolve this problem??

    Well, chances are I won’t be of much help (I’m not a techie), but I do run several WP sites on bluehost and don’t have any problems.

    What theme are you attempting to upload? Try to upload a different theme and see it you get the same error.

    I suspect since .com also had issues, it’s a problem with the theme. You might want to check the themes support pages as well.

    Good luck.

    Oh, I just found this thread. Same issue and he found a temporary fix.

    Thank you, it has been a bit of a struggle. I uploaded the theme by FTP and I am able to get it to work….

    Weird?! But I’m glad you got it to work.

    The error is most likely because of the way your individual computer (not server) is set up.

    Your browser has a small setting that may have been changed accidentally, by malware, or by an update.

    Here is how to FIX your internet connection so that it wont show that error in wordpress for themes or plugins… I JUST did this an KNOW it works, assuming its your problem like it was mine.

    I pulled these instructions off the internet to fix an internet connection that appears to be on a proxy )even though it is not).

    Go into firefox (or IE if you don’t have firefox) — You do not need to do this for every browser- just once in one of them:
    ============
    Firefox
    =============
    Step 1
    Launch Mozilla Firefox on your computer. Click “Tools,” click “Options” and choose “Options from the menu that slides out.

    Step 2
    Click the “Advanced” tab in the Options window. Click the “Settings” button in the Connection box.

    Step 3

    Locate the selected connection option in the list on the Connection tab. If your Internet connection uses no proxy server, the “No Proxy” connection setting option is enabled. If either the “Use System Proxy Settings” or “Manual Proxy Configuration” setting is selected, then your computer accesses the Internet via a proxy server.

    ================
    Internet Explorer
    ================
    Step 1
    Open Internet Explorer.

    Step 2
    Click the “Tools” drop-down arrow in the upper-right portion of the browser window. Select “Internet Options.”

    Step 3
    Click the “Connections” tab in the Internet Options window. Click the “LAN Settings” button. If there is a check mark in the box next to the “Us a proxy server for your LAN” option, then your PC accesses the Web through a proxy server. If there is no check mark in the box, your computer does not use a proxy server.

    @the92037a: The WordPress plugin system was down for a while. It seems like your timing was impeccable. Unfortunately, the “An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.remarpro.com or this server’s configuration” error message is a server-side error and is related to the WordPress servers being down. The fix you are suggesting is a client-side fix, which has no correlation to this error at all (unless you are running the WordPress installation on a webserver on the same computer you are doing this fix to).

    In rare cases, it is caused by a server configuration issue, but from about 5:30pm to 6:30pm Central Time, the plugin system was in fact down.

    However, this is a very good thing to check every once in a while because malware does have a habit of changing the computer’s proxy settings!
