What port for connecting to noc1.wordfence.com 500 internal error
-
I’ve been a happy Wordfence user for the last 6 months at least. But tonight I upgraded to the latest version and it seemed like all my settings for the plugin were lost. I was asked to take the Wordfence tour and even though I tried to end the tour on numerous occasions, the prompts for the tour kept showing up.
My email address for receiving notifications had also disappeared and the settings for Wordfence protection were set at 0 level. When I tried to enter my email address and set the protection level again, I got a 500 internal server error and I had to contact my host, who had to kill several unidentifiable PHP processes to prevent the 500 error.
One other thing I also noticed was that I received this message:
“Wordfence could not get an API key from the Wordfence scanning servers when it activated. You can try to fix this by going to the Wordfence “options” page and hitting “Save Changes”. This will cause Wordfence to retry fetching an API key for you. If you keep seeing this error it usually means your WordPress server can’t connect to our scanning servers. You can try asking your WordPress host to allow your WordPress server to connect to noc1.wordfence.com.”
I asked my host about connecting to noc1.wordfence.com and was told:
“That would depend on what port it is attempting to connect through, it is likely that our firewall is blocking it depending on the port”
Can you please let me know the port and provide any other advice? Hoping you can help.
