Hide thumbnail on Gallery post format

  • Hi, I want to hide the featured images on Gallery and Image single posts only, but show them on the main site.
    Removing <?php twentyfourteen_post_thumbnail(); ?> in content-gallery.php and content-image.php hides thumbnails on main index too and it doesn’t work for me.
    .single .post-thumbnail img { display: none; hides ALL thumbnails and I still need them for Audio post format.
    Any help?

  • Using this also removes all the featured images from responsive version for mobile users. The mobile version displays all the posts in a list, with the image and a title, and using this just creates a list of titles, that’s not good for mobile users.

    I really need to remove this pointless featured image from posts, but want it to remain for mobile users, and I cannot find a solution to this anywhere.

    It also seems that a lot of people are still not thinking about the massive mobile market, using this method of removing that line without checking the impact it has on mobile viewers.
